After 14 years we have been forced to close due to a fireworks ban in unincorporated King County.
We sincerely thank all of our customers and friends who have supported us these many years by purchasing safe and legal fireworks.
Normally a ban on fireworks causes a shift from the use of safe, legal products, to illegal and unregulated products. This typically causes an increase
in injuries, fires and deaths.
Fireworks were banned by the King County Council. With your leadership and guidance, perhaps someday resonable and responsible legislation will allow
safe, state regulated use of fireworks again.
A request for the ban was initiated by Vashon Fire and Rescue. All commissioners voted for the ban except David Hoffman who abstained.
The full King County Council voted for the ban which was sponsored by Joe McDermott and Claudia Balducci.
The ban is unenforced until 2023. The penalty for lighting so much as a sparkler starting in 2023 is a fine of $1,000 and 6 months in prison.
For those of you still using fireworks, please try to find state legal, name brand products, and be conscientious of your island neighbors.
